The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Part #4

Spoiler Warning: I will not be censoring or hiding content irrespective of how far into the game said content is. If you haven't played the game and do not want to be spoiled, bail out now.

Continuing my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Dolphin. Some of these shots were taken at, 3x native resolution (1920x1584), 4xSSAA, and 16x Anisotropic Filtering. Others at 4x native resolution (2560x2212), no SSAA, and 16x Anisotropic Filtering. SSAA was removed as it introduces an odd purple tinge specular filter that appears on surfaces when viewed at particular angles and under certain conditions. In most of the shots this rendering issue is either non-existent or so trivial you wont notice, making the benefit of using 4xSSAA to significantly clean up the image justifiable. Unfortunately, Lanayru Desert was more suspect to this issue than other areas, and the purple tinge made for some nasty shots. For the sake of proper colours and imagine clarity, SSAA was removed and internal resolution was increased to offset aliasing.

Oh, and this update is a lot smaller than the last three, because I haven't had much time to play, and wont until Monday.

  1. Two questions:

    1. Hows the audio? Last time I tried this, the crackling broke my heart and made baby Jesus cry

    2. What kind of bluetooth dongle do you have? Mine broke :(

    3. Dongle is a funny word. This isn't really a question, just agree with me here

  2. 1. A bit crackly, but not too bad. There should be solutions as others have few problems, I just haven't investigated them as it hasn't been too intrusive, and limited mostly to the music when the framerate takes a bit of a hit. Limiting FPS to audio, or 30, seems to provide a bit of a solution.

    2. No dongle. Motherboard has native USB support.

    3. I agree.
